< Update > - 05.07.2003 We went to Finnish racetrack happening in Ahvenisto's racetrack here in Finland. There was this Radalle.com happening where people can test they own car in the track. We tested Rapid =) Rapid was really good to drive in track, first it was very slippery because the raining but when track dryis down it has very good grip. - 2 new pics =)

Tommi pise ze s kolesami je to tam v pohode.Maju povoleny rozdiel vo velkosti kolies do dvoch palcov,ale ze mu na to nepovedali nic.(aj tak nic nevedia co tam ma byt).Vacsie problemy ze su tam s jednym stieraco, polepamy na prednom skle atd...

2Tommi S: It could be luck that the finnish police doesnt know these cars so well as our does. You can say, that the extended bonnet is an original one from skoda. But you cant say this here - even the most stupid policeman knows how a rapid looks like.
In our country you cant use bigger wheels, there is a tolerance of ten percent on width of the tyre (but not height). And if you want to have some of these wheels allowed you have to come through the test which you have to pay for quite a lot (more than the cost of the car). And the main problem is that they can say: sorry, your car does not fit our restrictments. Try it again (= pay again...)

2Tommi S: I had this to but i had to change the system. This is the best (and quite cheap) solution of it :-) The wiper goes from one corner to another and it is more stable

2u-geen: Wiper system is modified from original, the wiper-motor had to be moved a little bit and one axel is now shorter than before so it wipes more now with one wiper

2Tommi S: The single wiper system, what kind of it have you used? I am using single wiper system from Seat Ibiza (old type) and i found out that the system used there is the same that Bonrath uses :-) But the cost was 20times lower :-)

Rapids original wheelsize is 13" and now they are 17" but the finnish inspector didnt said anything he just asked does they run well ? Bigger problem here in Finland with polices are example those clear indicator covers (from ellri), single windscreen viper system and stickers in windscreen...Also that extended front bonnet can be a problem with Finnish police.

Well, it´s always nice to see someone so far abroad to love one of our old skodas. I really do appreciate the extended front bonnet - it´s one of the best I´ve ever seen. Also the rest of the car is very nice made. Can I have a question? How does it work with police in Finnland? I mean: have you got lot of problems because e.g. your big wheels? If you try to fit some of these wheels here in our country (and there are some blokes who have done it) you always have to count with the risk of high penalties if the police comes around.
I only wonder how you can navigate trough czech sites :-) don't you have some Czech speaking friend? :-)
